Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lineage website, applications, and related services (the “Service”) provided by Lineage (“Lineage,” “we,” “us”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at krishinparikh@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Your Content

“Your Content” means everything you upload or create through the Service, including stories, photos, videos, audio recordings, voice samples, and finished movies.

3.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of Your Content. We do not claim copyright in your family stories or media.

3.2 License You Grant Us

To run the Service, you grant Lineage a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, process, modify, adapt, and display Your Content solely for the purposes of operating, providing, securing, and improving the Service for you. This license includes sharing Your Content with the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy (such as AI script and voice synthesis providers) acting on our behalf as processors. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for residual copies retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

3.3 Your Representations About Your Content

By uploading Your Content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own it, or have all rights, licenses, consents, and permissions necessary to upload it and to allow Lineage to process it.
  • If Your Content shows another person’s image, likeness, voice, or personal story, you have their permission to share it. If they are deceased, you have permission from the person legally empowered to act on their behalf.
  • Your Content does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights, and is not unlawful, defamatory, or harassing.

4. Voice Cloning

The Service includes a feature that creates a synthetic voice (“Voice Clone”) based on voice recordings you provide. By creating or using a Voice Clone, you agree that:

  • The voice belongs to you, or you have express, documented permission from the speaker (or, where the speaker is deceased, from the person legally authorized to grant it).
  • You will use the Voice Clone only within the Service and only to narrate your own family or personal projects. You will not use it to impersonate, defraud, harass, or mislead any person, to generate political content attributed to a real person, or to create sexual or violent content.
  • You authorize Lineage and its voice synthesis processor to create, store, and use the Voice Clone solely to provide the Service to you, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • You may delete a Voice Clone at any time. We will delete the underlying samples and model within 30 days of your request, subject to legal retention obligations.

5. AI-Generated Output

The Service uses generative AI to assist with scripting, narration, and media composition. You should treat AI output as a starting point, not a finished record of fact:

  • AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or fabricated. You are responsible for reviewing it before sharing.
  • Different users may receive similar AI outputs from similar inputs. To the extent we have rights in AI output we generate for you, we assign them to you, subject to your underlying license to us in Section 3.2.
  • Lineage makes no warranty that AI output is original, non-infringing, or fit for any particular purpose.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any law or another person’s rights.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit, depicts minors in a sexualized way, or promotes violence against any person or group.
  • Attempt to clone the voice of, or generate content impersonating, any person without that person’s permission.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to circumvent rate limits, security, or access controls.
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product, or to train a machine-learning model.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as we expressly permit.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and may remove content that we reasonably believe violates them.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing is shown at the point of purchase and processed through a third-party payment provider.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled.
  • You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not entitle you to a refund of the current period unless required by law.
  • Except where required by law, all charges are non-refundable.
  • Prices may exclude applicable taxes, which you are responsible for paying.
  • We may change prices for future billing periods on at least 30 days’ notice.

8. Intellectual Property in the Service

The Service itself, including the software, design, branding, documentation, and our name and logo, is owned by Lineage and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

9. Feedback

If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use it without restriction or obligation to you.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your license to use the Service ends, but Sections 3.3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 14 survive.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINEAGE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR ORIGINAL. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINEAGE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, IN WHICH CASE THEY APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lineage from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your creation or use of a Voice Clone, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice (for example, by email or in-app notice) before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Miscellaneous

  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and Lineage regarding the Service.
  • If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • We may send notices to the email associated with your account.
